Colussi enters chocolate sector with acquisition of La Suissa

Colussi Group, a historic player in the confectionery sector since 1911 with the brands Colussi, Misura, Agnesi, Flora and Sapori 1832, is entering the chocolate segment with the acquisition of an 80% stake in La Suissa from the fund Alto Capital.

The remaining 20% remains in the hands of the Piella family, the founders of the company.

Established in 1981, La Suissa produces both under its own brand and for third parties in the almost 10,000 sq.m facility in Arquata Scrivia (Alessandria). In 2018 it posted revenues of almost €16.7 million, including 35% from exports, and double-digit growth. With the acquisition of Colussi it is aiming to widen its product portfolio and leverage manufacturing and commercial synergies between the two companies to expand La Suissa’s footprint in international markets.
